The IF934P from Alpha is a provide interface between a telephone line and the Ring-Master intercom exchange (RM5000 and CB901). The telephone line may be an extension from a PABX or a central office line. The interface is used to make calls from intercom stations to the telephone network and to make calls from outside telephones into any intercom station. Multiple interfaces can be used in the system. Each interface connects to one telephone line and requires one station port in the intercom exchange. All standard intercom features can be accessed from the interface ( all-call, group-call, conference, paging, meet-me etc.). OPERATION: A) To place outgoing calls from intercom stations: Dial the intercom extension number designated for telephone interface access. Dial tone will then be heard on the intercom from telephone system, then dial the telephone number. Ringing is heard until called party answers. Connection is established in the full duplex hands free mode. Confidential or simplex ( push to talk, release to listen) modes may be entered at anytime during conversation. To disconnect, push the X- key on the intercom station. B) Incoming call from an outside telephone: Telephone instrument must be TOUCH- TONE dialing (DTMF). Dial the telephone number for the telephone interface. The telephone interface automatically answers the call at the end of the first ring and sends dial tone back to the calling party. Any extension can now be dialed from the telephone. Dialing must start within 10 seconds from the time the dial tone is heard to avoid being disconnected. After completing the call, push the # key on the telephone to cancel the intercom call.
