Description
The American Fibertek CXB-6p-PoE Series transmits and receives (4) copper 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet signals at the RJ45 ports and (2) 1000 Base-X over copper or fiber using SFP ports. The CXB-6p-PoE Series also sources power to devices from the RJ45 ports over the copper connection. All 4 RJ45 ports may be used to deliver dc power (802.3af 15 watts) to devices. The unit is AC line powered (90 to 264VAC, 47 to 63Hz) with an option to provide an external 48Vdc power input (such as a battery backup) on the rear of the unit.
The system is designed to be completely transparent with auto negotiation features which automatically configures the unit for the correct speed (10/100 Base-TX). Auto MDI/MDIX operation eliminates the potential need for crossover cables. Diagnostic indicators provide a quick visual indication of system status. Several other I/Os are available including four contact input/output channels, 2 AFI USB probe ports (supports environmental monitoring), and an RS 232 channel (for setup/configurat ion and data communication).
Available probes (ordered separately) include the P-TAH and the P-VFP. The P-TAH monitors temperature, airflow, and humidity. The P-VFP monitors line voltage, frequency, and power. Also included is the afi Watchdog Ping system that can detect when devices fail to respond over the network. Upon loss of ping an auxiliary contact may be cycled or PoE power to a specified port may be cycled to restore a locked up network device to normal operation.
