For over three decades, our team has been at the forefront of manufacturing commercial and industrial-grade door hardware on a global scale, closely observing the evolution of the “connected” or “smart” lock into a significant industry segment. Despite the technological advancements, we noticed a persistent gap in the market: a thoughtful design approach and aesthetic appeal seemed to be overlooked. As technologies leveled out, offering similar functionalities across most locks, a stylistic dichotomy emerged: locks that resembled traditional designs with an added keypad and those that appeared as though a tech company was venturing into door lock manufacturing. Both styles, in our view, failed to captivate, being either too polarizing or uninspiringly bland. With Alfred, we set out to bridge this gap, combining innovative technology with exceptional design to introduce a smart lock that not only performs flawlessly but also enhances the aesthetic of any door it secures.
