The KBS-3 from Alpha is a coax to QwikBUS video converter. It is required per video camera other than the standard STR QwikBUS type camera. The Alpha KBS-3 coax camera to digital video converter unit is used only with the S.T.R. QwikBUS series video-intercom systems, when using the TT33 or TT33-2 type lobby panel speaker/microphone assembly.
The KBS-3 is used to convert the video data signal from the lobby entry camera’s conventional NTSC coax signal, to a digital signal to be sent to the QwikBUS video monitor(s). The KBS-3 gets its power from the TT33 or TT33-2 speaker/microphone module and does not require a separate power supply. Each lobby camera connected to the QwikBUS series video-intercom system, requires one KBS-3 converter.
