The HubWay8CDS from Altronix is a new Passive UTP Transceiver Hub with Integral Camera Power that efficiently transmits UTP video, RS422/RS485 data, and power over a single CAT-5 or higher structured cable. This unit supports 8 camera channels in a compact 1U EIA 19″ rack mount chassis, which can also be wall or shelf mounted. With a video transmission range of up to 750 feet per channel, it is compatible with both AC and DC fixed or PTZ cameras when used with Altronix HubWayAv, HubWayDv or HubWayDvi Video Balun/Combiners. Additionally, the optional HubSat4D module allows for the transmission of video from up to 4 cameras back to the HubWay8CDS, while providing local power to eliminate voltage drop issues associated with long cable runs.
