The ED-MTBS20K is an external maintenance bypass switch with a max output of 20kVA. The MTBS is a separate module from the UPS that allows the unit to be taken offline without removing connected equipment from utility power. If the UPS experiences an internal fault (battery or hardware-related), the user can bypass the UPS, providing utility power directly to connected equipment while the UPS is repaired.
